Abstract
Bien que la recherche sur les échanges d'espèces par l'homme se soit considérablement intensifiée au cours des derniers siècles, nous en savons étonnamment peu sur la dynamique temporelle des accumulations d'espèces exotiques à travers les régions et les taxons. En utilisant une nouvelle base de données de 45 813 premiers enregistrements de 16 926 espèces exotiques établies, nous montrons que le taux annuel de premiers enregistrements dans le monde a augmenté au cours des 200 dernières années, avec 37% de tous les premiers enregistrements signalés très récemment (19702014). Les variations intercontinentales et inter taxonomiques peuvent être largement attribuées à la diaspora des colons européens au XIXe siècle et à l'accélération du commerce au XXe siècle. Pour tous les groupes taxonomiques, l'augmentation du nombre d'espèces exotiques ne montre aucun signe de saturation et la plupart des taxons présentent même une augmentation du taux des premiers signalements au fil du temps. Cela montre que les efforts déployés par le passé pour limiter les invasions n'ont pas été suffisamment efficaces pour suivre le rythme de la mondialisation.
