Weeds or Resilience: Restoring nature's services - full webinar
Abstract
This Pacific Battler Lounge webinar dives into finding out more about invasive weeds, their impacts on nature, and how natural solutions can build climate resilience. Invasive weeds are a serious problem in the Pacific. They affect ecosystems by impacting on native biodiversity, our health and safety, our food security, and the health of our animals, as well as our livelihoods. They limit how we can move around in our environment and impact on our leisure and access to species with beneficial and cultural uses. They can contribute to greater impacts from natural disasters such as fires, floods, cyclones and landslides and in turn damage critical infrastructure. Weeds are slowly changing the very fabric of our ecosystems, communities and lives.
